A guest on a science show was claiming that some people consider nanotechnology immoral. What could be the basis for this? Has anybody else ever heard this?

Injury at Work Compensation

I’ve been wondering what nanotechnology is, what it does, and what it accomplishes. The only displays of nanotech that I have seen have been in comic books and sci-fi movies/tv shows. Does it really form on it’s own to make weapons and other appliances? Can it respond on its own or does someone need to control it? What can it do and accomplish? Is it stable or not? Has the technology been approved by the government and/or perfected?

Ive done 2 years of a 4 year nanotechnology course. If I do a masters in chemical engineering which is 1.5 years long, will I be able to work as a chemical engineer afterwards? Or should i just change my course to chemical engineering now and almost start from scratch?
